The Mora to host Trace Music Award 2025 in Zanzibar
The global music powerhouse and Afro-music promoter Trace has announced that it will hold its 2025 edition in Zanzibar in a stunning live Awards ceremony to be held at The Mora Resort celebrating the creativity, trendy and confidence of African and Afro-inspired music and culture around the world.
At the launch of the Trace Awards held this morning at The Mora, the Zanzibar Minister for Tourism, Mr Mudrik Soraga remarked on the value that Zanzibar will get from the global spotlight on musicians, creators, entrepreneurs and influencers from across Africa and the African diaspora.

“ These Awards is our way of celebrating the impact of musicians and other leaders in the urban cultural landscape in the globe and this with world-class ceremony will highlight the rewards that African artists influence African and global music and art scene. They couldn’t have chosen a better destination” he noted.
The Trace Awards will take place in Zanzibar from 24 to 26th February 2025, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism Zanzibar and is to be held at The Mora Resort as confirmed by the Marketing Manager of the resort Ms Porche Dumagude.“There is no better location to hold the Awards night than The Mora”, she added.
“The event that will comprise a 3-hour live televised spectacular music ceremony requires world class locations and platforms that befits such an event. We at Showtime are ready to support the event with our unbeatable in-house technical support,” remarked Ibrahim Mitawi, owner of the Event and Entertainment company, Showtime, Tanzania’s premiere event management company.

The Showtime company, in Zanzibar, has been managing major international events and this is right up its alley being that they own and manage the best music and live performance technical support facilities in the country.
The event will feature performances from the biggest African and Afro-descent artists in the world, and it will be held in front of 7000 music fans, musicians, influencers, trend-setters and policy makers from Africa and around the globe. The Awards will recognize a broad range of music genres from Afrobeat to Dancehall, Afro-pop, Mbalax, Amapiano, Zouk, Kizomba, Genge, Coupé Décalé, Bongo Flava, Soukous, Gospel, Rap, Kompa, R&B, and Rumba, and saluting artists of diverse cultural/lifestyle categories.
